The Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) is a stunning face-on spiral galaxy located about 21 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. Known for its beautifully defined spiral arms, it is rich in glowing star-forming regions, dark dust lanes, and countless young stars. Spanning approximately 170,000 light-years, M101 is one of the largest spiral galaxies in our local cosmic neighborhood and has hosted several observed supernovae.
